44th Annual NACBA Invitational Basketball Tournament
🏀 Hosted by the Chicago Dragons Athletic Association
What a weekend.
The 44th Annual NACBA Invitational took over Chicago this Memorial Day, bringing together 85 teams from across the U.S. and Canada for one of the biggest and most competitive showcases in NACBA history.
From buzzer-beaters to statement wins, the Romeoville Athletic Center was packed wall-to-wall with energy all weekend long. Every game meant something—and every team showed up ready to compete.
But this tournament wasn’t just about hoops.
A major highlight of the weekend was the honoring of Gene Lee, the founder of the NACBA Invitational, who established the tournament in 1981. His vision has grown into a nationally recognized event that continues to bring together players, coaches, and communities year after year. The tribute served as a meaningful reminder of the organization’s humble beginnings and the lasting impact of his leadership on the growth of Chinese American basketball.
Beyond the scoreboard, it was all about the culture. Old friends reconnecting, new rivalries forming, families in the stands, and that unmatched NACBA vibe you can’t replicate anywhere else.
No matter the results, everyone left Chicago a part of something bigger.

The stage is already set for the 45th Annual Invitational… and you already know it’s going to be even bigger.
Until then—respect to every team, every player, and everyone who made this weekend unforgettable.
